Terms of Service
Last Updated: April 20, 2026 · Terms Version: 1.0
These are the Terms of Service for using ScryDeck. By accessing or using ScryDeck, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the service.
We are going to use some shorthand to make this easier to read:
- "ScryDeck," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the ScryDeck service and the team operating it.
- "The Service" refers to the ScryDeck application, marketing site, API, and any related features.
- "You" and "your" refer to anyone accessing or using the Service.
We may modify these Terms at any time. We track changes with two labels:
- Material changes — updates that change your rights or obligations, add new restrictions on acceptable use, or change our legal relationship with you (governing law, liability, termination rules). Material changes bump the Terms Version number, are communicated by email and an in-app banner, and require you to re-accept the Terms on your next sign-in.
- Non-material changes — typos, clarifications, reorganizations, or updating references to features that now exist. These bump the Last Updated date but not the Terms Version.
The Last Updated date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms. The change log at the bottom of this document records every revision.
ScryDeck is operated from North Carolina, USA, and these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
Acceptable Use
ScryDeck is for people ages 13 and up. If you are under 13, you may not create an account. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete it.
One account per person. Each account is intended for a single individual. Do not share your account credentials with anyone else.
You will maintain ownership of your ScryDeck account. Do not sell, transfer, or otherwise allow another person to use your account.
ScryDeck is not a platform for harassment, bigotry, or harmful content. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that are used to harass or harm other people.
You may not interfere with ScryDeck's operation. Do not attempt to reverse engineer the Service, probe for vulnerabilities outside of a reasonable security-research disclosure, scrape content at volumes that impact other users, or circumvent rate limits and security measures.
No commercial data extraction. Card data, price history, and other content served by ScryDeck is for your personal use. Do not extract or redistribute it for commercial purposes.
Artificially generated collection data is not allowed. Collections, decks, and binders in ScryDeck should reflect real Magic: The Gathering cards you actually own, have access to, or are tracking. Do not fabricate data to game features that depend on collection accuracy.
Failure to comply has consequences. Violating these rules may result in content removal, feature restrictions, account suspension, or account termination, at our discretion.
ScryDeck is the final arbiter of these rules. If a situation arises that these Terms do not cover, we will use good-faith judgement to resolve it.
You can report abuse to the ScryDeck team by emailing support@scrydeck.com.
Paid Services
ScryDeck offers paid subscription services. Our subscription tiers and their features are described on our pricing page. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the payment method on file for the applicable fees on a recurring basis until you cancel.
There are multiple ways to pay. Payments are processed by Stripe — see our Privacy Policy for details.
Payments are generally not refundable. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Beta and free-tier accounts exist at ScryDeck's pleasure. Free tiers, beta access, and promotional credits are provided at our discretion and may be modified or withdrawn at any time.
We store payment information off-site. ScryDeck team members cannot see your full card number or card security code. See the Payment Processing section of our Privacy Policy for more.
Content License
Your content is yours. You retain ownership of the content you create on ScryDeck — your collection, your decks, your binders, and any notes you write. We do not claim ownership of your content.
You grant ScryDeck a narrow license to host and display your content back to you. This license exists solely so we can operate the Service — store your data in our database, sync it across your devices, and render it in the app. The license ends when you delete the content or close your account.
Public sharing is not yet enabled. We do not currently offer a way to publicly share decks, binders, or profiles. When we do, an additional section will be added here describing how shared content is licensed.
Intellectual Property and Disclaimers
ScryDeck is an unofficial, fan-made app and is NOT affiliated, endorsed, or supported by Wizards of the Coast LLC. Magic: The Gathering, all card names, mana symbols, set symbols, and related imagery are trademarks and copyrights of Wizards of the Coast LLC. ScryDeck uses this imagery under fair-use assumptions for the purpose of helping players track and organize cards they own.
The ScryDeck service, its original content, features, and functionality (excluding user-submitted content and Wizards of the Coast IP) are the exclusive property of ScryDeck and its licensors.
Limitation of Liability
ScryDeck is provided "AS-IS". We make no warranties, expressed or implied, about the Service's fitness for any particular purpose.
ScryDeck is provided on an "AS-AVAILABLE" basis. We may experience downtime, bugs, or service interruptions. We do our best to keep things running smoothly but make no uptime guarantees.
You use ScryDeck at your own risk. In no event shall ScryDeck, its team, contractors, or service providers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill — resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Price data is for informational purposes only. Card prices in ScryDeck are estimates sourced from public market data. They may be inaccurate, delayed, or out of date. Verify prices with the actual marketplace before making financial decisions. ScryDeck is not responsible for financial losses based on price data in the Service.
Card legality is for informational purposes only. Format legality indicators (Standard, Modern, Commander, etc.) are best-effort and may lag behind official bans and unbans. Verify legality with the official source before a tournament or event.
Scan accuracy is best-effort. ScryDeck's card scanner uses machine learning and may occasionally misidentify cards. Verify scans before making purchases or trades based on them. We're always working to improve the models — if you run into a card, set, or lighting condition that consistently trips up the scanner, we would love to hear about it. Email support@scrydeck.com with a screenshot or two, or drop a note in the #feedback channel on our Discord, and we will take a look.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, if you breach these Terms.
You may delete your account at any time. See the Account Deletion section of our Privacy Policy for how to do this.
Some obligations survive termination. Provisions relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law continue to apply after your account is closed.
Change Log
- 1.0 — 2026-04-20 — Material. Initial publication of the restructured Terms of Service. Added explicit sections on Acceptable Use, Paid Services, Content License, and Intellectual Property with a Wizards of the Coast disclaimer. Split liability disclaimers into specific carve-outs for price data, card legality, and scan accuracy. Removed a dangling reference to an arbitration clause that was never written. Clarified North Carolina, USA governing law.
