The scanner
Scan the whole shoebox, no sorting first.
You don't pick a set before you scan. Mix cards from any set and era, and the scanner identifies each printing on its own, down to the set and collector number, so the price you see is the right one. Foil detection currently covers cards from 2013 onward.
