Not every card in ScryDeck represents a card you physically own. Proxies and need placeholders let you build realistic deck lists and track what you still want to pick up — without inflating your owned value.
-
Proxy copies
Set a card’s status to Proxy when you are tracking a stand-in — printed proxy, test card, or placeholder for playtesting.
Proxies appear in collection and deck views with a distinct badge. They count toward deck completeness but not toward owned collection value.
-
Need placeholders
Need cards (labeled Not owned in the edit drawer) are slots for cards you want but do not have yet.
Adding a card to a deck you do not own creates a need placeholder automatically. Importing from Moxfield or Archidekt does the same for unmatched slots.
-
Graduating to owned
When you acquire a physical copy, change the status from Proxy or Not owned to Owned. ScryDeck records an acquisition date and snapshots the current market price as your acquired price.
-
Where they show up
The home collection value widget breaks down owned, proxy, and need counts in its status chart.
Deck legality and card counts include proxies and need cards so you see the full list — not just what is in your binders today.
